Cultural Awareness:Each quarter, we expose our students to dance styles from all over the world to promote cultural acceptance and to expand young people’s minds and world-views. We believe that dance, as a truly universal art form, can help break down cultural barriers and inspire open-mindedness. Our cultural dance classes are meant to have an educational value and, beyond teaching dance steps, and to introduce our students to the geographic, historical, and cultural origins of the dance. Some of the cultural dance styles we have exposed our students to include Salsa, Merringue, and Cha Cha (Latin), Brazilian, West African, Bollywood (Indian), Hula (Tahitian), Yoganesha Yoga (Egyptian & Indian), krump dance (United States), break dance, and swing.
